POSITION PURPOSE: The Lead Medical Interconnected Diabetes Management ("IDM") will have responsibility for implementing and supporting strategy of the Company's IDM plan for the service-related solutions. This individual will interface externally with physicians, clinical investigators, and regulatory agencies and will provide internal scientific support (educational content, outcomes development and tracking) and be responsible for the IDM Information function. The incumbent must possess in-depth knowledge of ADC approved products, devices in the pipeline and all associated disease areas. This position will include representing ADC at scientific, clinical and business development meetings. The Lead Medical IDM will serve as a subject matter expert with a direct reporting line to the Global Head IDM and will interact closely with peers as well as external health care professionals.
MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:
Oversees all aspects of clinical studies and publications supporting IDM digital service platforms .
Oversee and provide guidance to Sr CDE Coach, Content Manager who has responsibility to hire, onboard, train, and lead the Company's diabetes coaches and clinical subject matter experts.
Provide medical input to personalized medical content for our diabetes service solutions and activity bursts offered to patients. These plans will include tailored advice for a series of patient archetypes. The plans will support and empower users to make behavioral changes and live more healthy lives.
Collaborate with Sr CDE Coach, Content Manager on design and content of diabetes coaching curriculum for coaches. The coaches will support users who are dealing with difficult emotions and stress from diabetes.
Outline and develop key outcomes to build into clinical and customer pilots , tracking the outcomes data and reporting back to employers and payor plans. Hire, onboard and train key outcomes managers for this service offering area.
Spend time in the field talking with customers in order to understand what's motivating them to improve their own diabetes self-care, and what barriers might prevent them from meeting their goals.
Manage a team of clinical subject matter experts. Refine the workflow and communication processes between patients and experts.
Independently synthesizes, interprets, and explains new medical and scientific information related to ADC business around Digital health . Stakeholders include marketing, sales, general management, public relations and customer service. Conducts the medical review of promotional and other ADC developed material for medical and scientific accuracy according to SOP and in collaboration with members from legal and regulatory team (LMR)
Contributes to planning and implementation of ADC scientific programs globally including congresses and key opinion leader meetings and supporting the local medical organization and coordinates Medical Information support activities at key congress exhibits.
Helps with contracting and scientific follow up with external stakeholders i.e. KOL for IIR, etc.
Key contributor to IDM advisory panels with KOL's in USA and Europe
Provide medical literature research where detailed medical information is required. Consolidate this so it can be effectively utilized.
Significantly contribute to the planning and implementation of ADC scientific programs including congresses and KOL meetings and coordinate Medical Information support activities at key congress exhibits with oversight.
Drive publication development outside primary data publication; i.e. interact with authors, agency, etc.
Be familiar with ADC products, policies and procedures, perform individual tasks and assignments given by the direct manager and be self-motivated, curious and a quick learner - ideally hits the ground running.
Comply with all ADC corporate policies, SOPs and compliance guidelines.
Medical Degree, with 5-8 years experience working with diabetes patients; strong experience in Type II diabetes therapies is preferred.
Strong business acumen and a high level of initiative and curiosity towards how technology can advance clinical health and wellness.
Experience developing or running clinical trial programs within clinics or diabetes education centers for people with diabetes
Experience developing healthcare or medical products.
Scientific and technical expertise, including the ability to develop, understand and critically review scientific data.
Demonstrated experience working or using digital heath based technologies or service , for patients with diabetes or other chronic conditions
Experience crafting and implementing education and content plans for diabetes patients.
Experience managing teams of 3+ individuals of diverse backgrounds towards a common goal.
Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to influence and build consensus across a broad range of backgrounds, organizational levels and personalities. A passion for developing people.
Ability to understand the challenges that growing startups and larger organizations have staying productive, creative, and engaging is required; prior experience working for a start-up company will be a plus.
Knowledge of regulatory and quality management systems.
