  • Binghamton University, consistently ranked among the top public universities in the nation, seeks four open-rank tenure track faculty members to be part of its growing Department of Social Work, which includes both an MSW and a newly developed BSW program. The typical teaching load consists of two courses per semester.

The Department of Social Work is part of Binghamton University's College of Community and Public Affairs (CCPA). CCPA is composed of five departments - Human Development, Public Administration, Social Work, Student Affairs Administration, and Teaching, Learning and Educational Leadership, as well as an interdisciplinary doctoral program in Community Research and Action, all of which prepare for students for community-building professions. CCPA is located in the heart of the city of Binghamton, in close proximity to local agencies with which faculty frequently partner.

    An MSW and Ph.D. in Social Work, or a related field, are required. Two years of post-Master's practice experience is preferred.

    Applicants who demonstrate a well-defined research agenda with significant scholarly activity, the potential to apply for and obtain research support, and experience collaborating across disciplines will be strongly considered. We welcome all areas of research and expertise.

    Familiarity with anti-oppressive practice; record of or potential for excellence in teaching; the ability to work with diverse constituencies and engage with a collegial and inclusive culture are preferred.
