    Job Description:

    This job is responsible for assisting with the recommendation process related to the buying, selling, or holding of financial securities and/or studying the role of government in the economy. Key responsibilities include performing financial and statistical analyses, conducting research, preparing reports, helping to originate, structuring and modeling transactions, and assessing market trends. Job expectations may include rotating through a specific product area or sector to gain exposure to the business.

    The IT Hardware and Technology Supply Chain Research team covers 27 stocks (and growing) with high trading volume, strong investor interest, and opportunity for new coverage.

    The team is looking for someone who can help tie in macro themes and megatrends in a changing technology landscape, and present them in concise written research with actionable investment ideas across our coverage universe.

    The ideal candidate will have between three to four years of experience in markets and experience focusing on the technology sector. This candidate will work with both the Senior Analyst and team members in all aspects from idea generation to company meetings, and will play a critical part in providing the financial modeling and qualitative analysis to formulate investment opinions.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform financial modeling & valuation work

    • Regularly write industry and company reports and initiations of coverage from scratch

    • Analyze data in market research databases

    • Respond to research inquiries from our institutional investor clients during market hours

    • Interview industry experts regarding our covered companies and industries

    • Build relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companies

    • Participate and contribute to industry conferences and events

    • Closely follow and understand stock market, industry and company specific activity, and relay to the analyst when he/she is traveling

    • Seek out new, unusual sources of information to augment our research capabilities

    • Work with Senior Analysts to develop key industry themes

    • Demonstrate strong industry knowledge and business judgment

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience; progress towards a CFA or other relevant professional certifications is a plus

    • 3-4 years of experience focusing in equity research, buy side experience or investment banking experience

    • Strong writing and modeling skills (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement in Excel).

    • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and intense environment.

    • Must have excellent communications skills, written and verbal

    • Must respond well to time-sensitive tasks, such as writing earnings reports and responding to clients

    • Must enjoy following the stock market and doing desktop and field research

    • Along with strong Finance and Accounting skills, should have basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, international affairs, and policy/politics

    • Must have strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task

    • Must work well in a collaborative team environment
