    Trustmark is currently seeking an Executive Director, Group Life and Disability to join our Voluntary Benefits product team. Ideally this talented leader would be located in Lake Forest, IL but the right candidate could work remotely.

    Overview

    As a pivotal member of our product team, you will leverage your expertise to set the direction for a new portfolio of group products that prioritize the needs and experiences of our diverse customer base and help fuel Trustmark's growth. We are looking for someone who thrives on innovation, collaboration, and empathy-driven problem-solving to design, develop and launch new group term life, group disability, paid family medical leave (PFML) products and absence management services.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Product Development

    • Leads all facets of product design and development for new group term life, group disability, Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML) products and absence management services.

    • Ensures the new product portfolio is optimized, proactively identifies portfolio gaps, and leads product prioritization and development to ensure the right offerings are available to sell.

    • Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, actuarial, marketing, and sales, to integrate user feedback and ensure alignment of product development efforts with user needs and business objectives.

    • Leads primary and secondary market research to obtain voice of customer to inform product design and value proposition creation.

    • Leads stakeholder and risk analysis on key issues including internal and external resources and capabilities needed to bring new products successfully to market.

    • Establishes budgets, operational plans and performance metrics for products.

    Product Management

    • Manages external partners and vendors necessary to deliver product value proposition, striving to create experiences that exceed customer expectations and drive positive outcomes.

    • Accountable for ensuring all product line initiatives achieve targeted return on investment goals, adapting strategies and approaches to drive expected results.

    • Ensures key performance indicators are measured and reported for all product line initiatives.

    • Ensures all products are compliant and timely action is taken to address regulatory changes.

    Product Implementation

    • Collaboratively works with sales and marketing teams to competitively position and build awareness of new products with producers.

    • Creates product comparisons and executive summaries to drive product analysis and decision making.

    • Ensures associates have necessary training, tools and resources to quote, sell and administer new products.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree.

    • 10+ years of experience across product development, product management and implementation.

    • 5+ years of group term life and disability experience

    • Track record of success identifying and managing strategic partnerships

    • Proven ability to develop and revise strategy and tactics to propel business growth.

    • Ability to analyze and interpret challenging concepts and resolve complex issues.

    • Ability to inspire, lead, and coach both leaders and employees.

    • Experience working collaboratively across the organization to build consensus and synergies that support attainment of division goals, handle conflicts, negotiate, and promote team spirit.

    • Must be innovative and creative in looking for ways to improve current processes.

    • Must be of unquestioned integrity, ethical and moral character.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Preferred Experience

    • MBA or advanced degree in Marketing, Management.

    • Professional certifications (e.g., FLMI, CLU, CPCU).

    • Expertise in leading research projects and synthesizing consumer insights.
