Instr Sys Des Technologist 1

Senior-Level Logistician who is experienced, dedicated, and purpose-driven to support to PMS425 Submarine Combat and Weapons Systems Program Office (PMS425) under the Program Executive Office Undersea Warfare Systems (UWS). General Duties include coordination with NAVSEA stakeholders, developing/editing training products, conduction of operational training and testing events, providing informed recommendations to the Government regarding navigation-related doctrine, and serving as a liaison between program offices and Fleet leadership- Coordinate with IWS6 for Navy Electronic Chart Display Information System (NECDIS), PMS 425 for Mission Planning Application (MPA) & Integration, and PMS435 for BPS-17 RADAR Systems. Efforts include operations, evaluation and feedback of system development and design quality training packages for the fleet's employment aboard modernizing units.

Instruction System Design Technologist Responsibilities Include:

• Conduct Operator training events with crews receiving modernized systems and convene Train the Trainer (+Certifiers) event to establish local MTT expertise at each submarine homeport.

• Participate in Combat System test events to provide Navigation SME support.

• Conduct BPS-17 RADAR Operator Training events with navigation teams and contact managers.

• Liaise with Fleet Type Commanders, SLC & Program offices to develop modernization learning objectives and design quality training products.

• Interface with NAV software stakeholders/developers to relay deficiencies, guide engineering teams on how to reproduce errors and what "correct" is supposed to be IAW fleet instructions.

• Assist UWDC Groton & Type Commanders with recommendations on navigation related doctrine.

• Participate in quarterly AN/BYG-1 navigation application evaluation events at Lockheed Martin Manassas, VA

• Travel - Frequently, depending on modernization schedules and software testing opportunities. Sea time is not required for this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or GED

• Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance (at a minimum, must receive/be approved for an interim Secret security clearance in order to start) Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.

• Qualified Naval Instructor (NEC: 805A)

• Experience serving a Submarine Assistant Navigator (NEC:T21B)

• 10+ years' experience specifically related to U.S. Navy Undersea Logistics

• 8+ years' experience DoD Program Management (NAVSEA Preferred)

• Active DoD Secret Clearance

• Primary Location is out of Groton, CT; however, based on need can operate out of other CONUS submarine bases with access to secure areas.

• Ability to travel 25%-50%

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Certified Master Training Specialist (NEC: 8MTS)

• Cross platform experience preferred.

• SEAC/SUBOPAUTH experience preferred.
