FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

New York City College of Technology of the City University of New York (CUNY), a comprehensive college in downtown Brooklyn offering 58 associate and baccalaureate degrees, invites applications for a Lecturer in Psychology in the Department of Social Science, anticipated to begin in fall 2024. This is a full-time position leading to a certificate of continuous employment (CCE).

The Social Science Department is a multi-disciplinary department dedicated to promoting student success. Faculty members are encouraged to become involved in innovative educational approaches such as mentoring student research and fostering learning communities. This position requires a commitment to excellence in teaching and service to the department, college, and university. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: student advisement, curriculum development, assessment, reaccreditation, and support of retention and recruitment initiatives. We promote opportunities for interdisciplinary work and collaboration with faculty in departments across all three schools of the college.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field and the ability to teach successfully.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree or doctorate in Psychology or related field

• Background in biopsychology or related interdisciplinary field is a plus

• Prior teaching experience at the college level, including demonstrated ability to teach survey-level introductory to advanced psychology courses

• Experience using online learning management systems such as Brightspace

• A multidisciplinary approach to instructional strategies and collaboration

• Demonstrated commitment to quality education for a diverse student body

COMPENSATION

$69,665 - $88,998. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
