  • Join the Rocky Research team working Laser Support Equipment (LSE) for directed energy weapons "Star Wars" technology. Looking for an entry level machinist, must be able to setup operate and maintain machinery with skills running manual equipment such as mills, lathes, and grinders. Looking for an innovative person to work in a prototype machine shop environment. Person must have the flexibility to work in multiple rolls: machinist, inspector, assembly, fixture design, coordination and ordering of purchased materials.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Set up, operation and maintenance of the following equipment to fabricate high quality hardware: Manual mill, Manual Lathe, Drill press, Grinder, etc.

    • Good knowledge of inspection equipment, with ability to verify parts meet print requirements.

    • Ability to fabricate parts directly from 2D drawings.

    • Ability to record and maintain quality data.

    • Good writing and communication skills.

    • Ability to efficiently produce high quality parts.

    YOU MUST HAVE

    • High School Diploma, or equivalent.

    • Ability to read blueprints and schematics, experience with SolidWorks a plus

    • Ability to follow instructions and identify mistakes.

    • General computer experience with programs such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
