    The Manager, SAP Lab and Accounting HUB at the Milgard School of Business (MSB) University of Washington Tacoma (UWT) is responsible for contributing to undergraduate and graduate student success and engagement. This position will develop, manage, and support Accounting HUB initiatives and activities, as well as take on independent projects in relation to planning and implementing the strategic direction of the undergraduate and graduate accounting programs. The position will work with the Director of Accounting Programs, accounting faculty, Milgard staff, and current and prospective students at UWT on these endeavors. The Manager will also develop relationships with educators at other institutions, prospective and current students, alumni, and local community leaders in order to support a robust student mentoring program and alumni engagement. The individual in this position must have an understanding of accounting classes at the undergraduate and graduate level, and an understanding of curriculum and details of all classes within the program. This position must also have knowledge of multiple modules of SAP enterprise-wide software, with the ability to support student learning.

    The Manager, SAP Lab and Accounting HUB will accomplish the above by doing the following:

    -Managing the operations of the SAP Lab and Accounting HUB including: - (50%)

    • Implementing new initiatives to ensure the growth and strategic success of the SAP Lab and Accounting HUB.

    • Ensuring that school, campus, and university policies and procedures are followed in all initiatives.

    • Assisting the Director in setting center goals and conducting assessments.

    • Conducting research on internal data as well as external sources (i.e., similar programs at other institutions.)

    • Serving as point of contact and representative for the Accounting HUB and SAP Lab both within and outside the Milgard School, e.g., at campus-wide events and to the community.

    • Supervising student employees (up to five 5).

    • Developing and managing the Enterprise Resource Planning Simulator (ERPSIM) International Competition TEAM, as well as other national and international competition teams.

    • Managing International Student activities and assimilation.-Fostering relationships with the Accounting Advisory Board and members of the Accounting Profession to build and maintain strong interest in the accounting program and our students with the goal of increasing financial support for the program and job opportunities for our students. - (20%)-Ensuring the strategic success of the Voluntary Income Tax (VITA) program through the management of the VITA site including: - (20%)

    • Coordinating with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to ensure all volunteers have received the appropriate certifications.

    • Training and supervising student volunteers to ensure successful completion of tax returns, as well as safeguarding all tax payer information.

    • Raising community awareness of the VITA site and encouraging community members to utilize the program.

    • Obtaining grant funding from the IRS.

    • Maintaining knowledge of IRS regulations to ensure the Accounting HUB VITA site remains in program compliance.-Managing Executive Education and Certification programs - 10%

    • Managing the planning and logistics of multi-day events, multiple times during the year.

    • Managing the registration and communication with attendees from the campus and community.

    • Assisting the director with curriculum development.-Other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements

    • Master's degree in Accounting, Business or related field and one year of relevant experience Additional

    • Strong knowledge of SAP-ERP software and accounting coursework

    • Attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and work a flexible schedule with some evening and/or weekend work

    • Proven ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team serving a diverse population of students, staff and/or faculty

    • MS suite experience Desired Qualifications

    • Experience building partnerships with external groups and/or organizations

    • Experience working with people at different life and career stages

    • Experience supporting faculty in a graduate program

    • Knowledge of graduate programs policies and procedures

    • Experience using social media for professional purposes
