    Requirements

    2 years' experience as MLT

    Certified MLT (ASCP/BOC/AMT)

    Experience in Generalist, Chemistry, Chemo, and Microbiology

    Start Date: 2 to 3 weeks from offer

    Shift: 5 days a week, day shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM OR 7:00AM - 3:30 PM)

    Weekend Rotation

    Duration: 13 weeks

    The Medical Laboratory Technician performs routine tests ina medical laboratory to provide data for use in diagnosis and treatment ofdisease.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Performs manual and automated routine blood tests

    • Prepares specimens for microscopic examination

    • Operates laboratory equipment including centrifuges, drybath incubators and blood bank refrigerators

    • Applies standard laboratory concepts, practices andprocedures within a defined field; may specialize in hematology, blood bank,cytology, histology, or chemistry

    • Performs daily instrument maintenance and quality control

    • Knowledge of critical values

    • Maintains accurate records and data reporting

    • Compliance with workplace policies and procedures for riskidentification, risk assessment and risk control

    • Ensures to comply with HIPAA, CLIA, COLA, and CAP regulatoryrequirements - Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

    Minimum Requirements

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent required

    • Graduate of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician(MLT) program and successful completion of national exam administered by theBoard of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathology preferred andmay be required per state/contract

    • One year experience as a ML required unless certified as anMLT in state practicing

    • Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice

    • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable

    • Current CPR if applicable

    • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

    • Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

    • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

    • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site

    • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements

    • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required

    • Computer proficiency required

    • Must be at least 18 years of age
