    Position Summary

    As a Pharmacy Technician 3, you'll support the on-site pharmacist to prepare prescription orders for facilities. You'll be responsible for ensuring that pharmacy standards are maintained, policies are carried out and objectives are accomplished.

    Responsibilities

    • Assisting the Pharmacist with proper labeling and filling prescriptions

    • Accurately preparing prescriptions under the Pharmacist's supervision

    • Packaging Rx labels

    • Packaging medications in bottles or bingo cards for dispensing and for delivery

    • Restocking and organizing the pharmacy shelves (drugs, supplies, etc.)

    • Removing out of date items from inventory/shelves

    • Refilling off-site inventory boxes with emergency medications

    • Comprehensive operation of pharmacy automation

    • Full operation of an MTS350 machine to be able to efficiently pre-pack medications

    • Properly partially fill orders if we do not have the full quantity in stock

    • Properly package up medications in multi-dose blister cards or vials for patients who are discharging or going out on leave from the nursing home

    • Properly handle and package medications deemed hazardous drugs in accordance with USP800

    • Receive drug products through inventory management application

    • Comprehensive duties that are required when dealing with narcotics, including but not limited to: prepacking, labeling, packaging, returning to stock

    • Non-sterile Compounding of medications (Creams/Ointments/Suspensions)

    Additional Skills & Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or GED is required

    • 2-3 years or more of Long Term Care or Retail pharmacy experience preferred

    • Able to work independently as well as in a diverse, team environment

    • Registered technician or certification required in applicable state

    • National technician certification is required through either PTCB or another nationally recognized program
