As a Pharmacy Technician 3, you'll support the on-site pharmacist to prepare prescription orders for facilities. You'll be responsible for ensuring that pharmacy standards are maintained, policies are carried out and objectives are accomplished.
Assisting the Pharmacist with proper labeling and filling prescriptions
Accurately preparing prescriptions under the Pharmacist's supervision
Packaging Rx labels
Packaging medications in bottles or bingo cards for dispensing and for delivery
Restocking and organizing the pharmacy shelves (drugs, supplies, etc.)
Removing out of date items from inventory/shelves
Refilling off-site inventory boxes with emergency medications
Comprehensive operation of pharmacy automation
Full operation of an MTS350 machine to be able to efficiently pre-pack medications
Properly partially fill orders if we do not have the full quantity in stock
Properly package up medications in multi-dose blister cards or vials for patients who are discharging or going out on leave from the nursing home
Properly handle and package medications deemed hazardous drugs in accordance with USP800
Receive drug products through inventory management application
Comprehensive duties that are required when dealing with narcotics, including but not limited to: prepacking, labeling, packaging, returning to stock
Non-sterile Compounding of medications (Creams/Ointments/Suspensions)
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED is required
2-3 years or more of Long Term Care or Retail pharmacy experience preferred
Able to work independently as well as in a diverse, team environment
Registered technician or certification required in applicable state
National technician certification is required through either PTCB or another nationally recognized program
