    If so, apply today and and join the Microsoft Security Response Center Vulnerabilities and Mitigations Team (MSRC V&M) Team as a Principal Security Research Manager, exploring new ways to find, eradicate, and prevent security flaws in our codebase.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage and retain direct reports who deliver results that measurably improve the security of Microsoft online services.

    • Develop new ways to prioritize projects within the security space, with a specific focus on finding and getting the worst security flaws fixed in most places.

    • Create tools, services, or whatever is necessary so that developers and teams discover and address security vulnerabilities.

    • Collaborate with teams across Microsoft to help perform and validate root cause analysis of failures and understand different technology stacks.

    • Find and recruit talented developers to contribute to our goal of more secure platforms.

    • Plan and manage an expanding portfolio of security areas and track associated metrics and external cases and research.

    • Create and represent plans to management for driving security improvements across Microsoft products and services.

    • Any other reasonable activity directed by management.

    Qualifications

    Required/Minimum Qualifications

    • 7+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cybersecurity, and/or anomaly detection.

    o OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.

    • 1+ year(s) people management experience.

    • 5+ years of Security Software Development Experience.

    • 5+ years of experience withsystems security assessment and penetration testing.

    Other Requirements

    Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

    Microsoft Cloud Background Check. This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Dependable and committed record of vulnerability research and discovery

    • Understanding of security issues that may arise in managed and native server code components and their security implications.

    • Ability to understand C and/or C++ 3+ years People Management Experience

    • Ability to explain and advise on security design and implementation of complex security problems

    Security Research M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
