    Ketjen Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Albemarle Corporation, is currently seeking a Process Controls Engineer at our Bayport, TX site.

    The Process Controls Engineer's primary responsibility is to provide predictive and preventive maintenance and technical support: Identify and document cost reductions, manage staff, facilitate equipment modifications with vendors, and conduct failure analysis; document equipment history.

    Responsibilities

    • Programming and troubleshooting of control system to support day-to-day operations ( ABB Bailey Infi90/Batch Programming, Rockwell PlantPAx, Wonderware InTouch, Allen Bradley and Modicon PLC's)

    • Participate in selection and specification of new hardware/software.

    • Participate in commissioning and troubleshooting of new programming and hardware.

    • Manage and monitor the health of the process control system and process networks.

    • Assist with management of the plant historian (OSIsoft PI) and associated applications (PI Analytic Framework, PI Vision, etc.)

    • Assist with management of NWA software (Northwest Analytics)

    • Process optimization, Six-Sigma Green or Black Belt experience with multi-variate analysis tools will be a plus but not required.

    • Provide 24/7 on-call coverage at least one week per month.

    • Travel is minimal; however, a small amount of travel may be required for training, conferences

    • This position is full-time, 9/80 schedule at Bayport; however, additional after-hours support will be expected occasionally for start-up and troubleshooting.

    Basic Requirements

    • A Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering and at least 2 years of plant experience is preferred.

    • Strong programming experience in either DCS (function block and batch logic) or PLC is required.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Excellent people skills and customer focus

    • Ability to work both as an effective member of a team and independently.

    • Motivation to learn and expand skill set.
