  • Our client, designs, engineers, manufactures and certifies reliable digital in-flight entertainment and cabin management systems (IFE/CMS) for the corporate, private and VIP aircraft industry and is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team.

    Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

    Location: Kent, WA

    Pay Range: $130K - $140K on W2

    Responsibilities:

    1. Perform engineering development by applying a moderate degree of creativity, engineering skill and judgment in applying engineering principals to electrical problems.

    2. Develop detailed electronic equipment design solutions, including product architecture, schematic development, BOM management, layout, configuration management, and issue tracking. Support the transfer of design files into the manufacturing process by writing and managing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).

    3. Support moderate level of complexity products including supporting multiple programs involving multiple CCAs concurrently.

    4. Design multilayer Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) that include the following functions:

    5. High-speed communication supporting up to10Gbps (optional)

    6. Digital audio/video transmission and conversion (optional)

    7. Microcontroller/Microprocessor circuits

    8. Power management

    9. Serial/Peripheral interfaces

    10. Built-In-Test (BIT)

    11. Develop designs for EMI that have low radiated and conducted emissions and are resistant to susceptibility.

    12. Accomplish power budgeting, analysis, and characterization as it relates to current draw and thermal characteristics.

    13. Accomplish hardware/software bring-up/debug and product verification testing.

    14. Coordinate with other functional groups (systems, software, mechanical, production) to steer designs for easy integration into other processes and the aircraft.

    15. Provide direction to others directly and by documentation for CCA assembly, rework, and changes using Pick and Place machine, soldering irons, heat guns, hot plates, etc.

    16. Support environmental tests to acquire engineering data and regulatory compliance testing (primarily DO-160).

    17. Participate in design reviews of own and other's designs.

    Education/Experience:

    1. BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering

    2. 10+ years' experience

    3. ECAD experience for schematic capture and layout, preferably Altium Designer

    4. Software experience in languages or environments such as C/C++, Python, Linux, Bash, Arduino and Raspberry Pi
