    Your Opportunity

    Join a Top 10 global design firm in our Texas buildings practice that provides Interior Design, Architecture, and Buildings Engineering services with a long history and deep commitment to the education sector. Our Austin, Texas office is seeking a senior Interior Design professional to join our interdisciplinary team.

    The primary role of the Senior Interior Designer is to interpret and translate the needs and desires of a client as well as any architectural direction set forth into a cohesive interior design solution with limited guidance and supervision. This process may involve the production of drawings (2D/3D), and written material to support the conceptual direction of interior design and FFE. This individual may be required to present their ideas in formal and informal settings with a willingness and desire to hear and respond to constructive feedback. An individual at this level in their career is expected to perform their role within the standard of care acceptable to their peers in the industry. A Senior Interior Designer is expected to work collaboratively with the architectural team, conceptualizing, developing, and documenting varying aspects of the interior design of a project, including but not limited to space planning, interior architecture, lighting, interior materials and palette, specifications and FFE.

    • Advocate for design excellence and creativity within the practice of interior design both internally and externally.

    • Collaborate between offices to support multiple project teams while maintaining the established project design vision.

    • Participate in interdisciplinary teams.

    • Engage team in dialog on design and ensure design process is followed.

    • Investigate technology to improve efficiencies.

    • Communicate openly and honestly, with respect and courtesy.

    • Share knowledge with team members, clients, and partners.

    • Anticipate client needs to consistently deliver excellent client service.

    • Solicit input from team members and seek guidance to address challenges.

    • Ambassador and steward of the firm's portfolio of work.

    • Follow established standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.

    • Comply with professional ethical standards and codes.

    • Engage with a professional organization outside the firm that contributes to the visibility of the firm.

    • Clarify expectations and encourage accountability.

    Team Leadership

    • Inspire, manage, and retain a team of professionals, and attract new talent to the team.

    • Set the tone for a collaborative culture that strives for design & technical excellence.

    • Provide leadership, advocacy, and mentorship for the interior design team.

    • Make recommendations regarding the future growth of the interior design team.

    • Collaborate with other interior design team leads in Texas on design culture, standards, team development, and project opportunities.

    • Interpret sketches, drawings, codes, building program and other similar material.

    • Exhibits maturity and cultural awareness internally and externally.

    • Integrate the design principles that impact the human experience of interior spaces into all projects.

    • Knowledge of building construction systems, constructability, materials, and industry associated standards.

    • Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Newforma, recent modeling software.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Interior Design or related field is required.

    • Licensed Interior Designer is preferred.

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience is preferred.

    • LEED Green Associate or LEED AP is preferred.
