Senior Staff Accountant

To support the company's objectives as Senior Accountant, you will prepare and consolidate financial statements, analyze and reconcile accounts, analyze cash flow, produce budgets and forecasting, prepare audits, and handle internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Exceptional analytical skills are required to excel in this role. In addition to the solid compensation and benefits, this full-time position offers the possibility of growth. This Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Agriculture field and is located in Hanford, California.

Your responsibilities in this role

• Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

• Present Balance Sheet account reconciliations

• Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests

• Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

• Participate in various department-wide initiatives

• Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

• Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

• Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary

• Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting Requirements

• BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

• Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

• Knowledgeable of ERP systems

• Month end closings experience preferred

• Solid understanding of general ledger

• Strong familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Foundational knowledge in financial statement preparation

• 2+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

• SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus

• Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

• Prior work done in public accounting is desired

• Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills

• Engages effectively in self-directed time management and prioritization of workload

• Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

• Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
