    Job Summary

    The Vice President of Marketing & Communications oversees marketing, brand, and communications strategies for Chartwells K12 and leads overall aspects of the function including but not limited to digital marketing, campaign creation and execution, scalable marketing solutions, content strategy and creation, media relations, public relations, digital and social media management, and crisis communications. This individual develops, leads and inspires the marketing and communications team in its development and execution of scalable strategies and plans for Chartwells K12.

    Through all efforts, the Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications focuses on critical thinking and creative problem solving to drive innovation, market distinction and client retention, revenue growth (new and existing locations), storytelling, internal and external communications, and crisis communications. The role plays a pivotal part in shaping Chartwells K12 public image and voice, as well as fostering strong relationships with internal and external partners.

    Objectives

    • Develop innovative, high impact program offerings that will differentiate Chartwells K12 and accelerate growth

    • Elevate brand equity to drive substantial organizational growth, with a focus on associate recruitment and retention strategies.

    • Directly oversee and inspire the marketing and communications team, interns, and external partners.

    • Develop and implement a cutting-edge communication platform, reinforcing the organization's value proposition to current and prospective clients as well as parents and the communities we serve.

    • Spearhead a transformative digital strategy for heightened engagement and as a catalyst for new business opportunities.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for Chartwells K12 overall marketing and communications strategy using innovative solutions and a stakeholder-centric approach.

    • Collaborate with various senior leaders in development and executions of strategies, including the senior leadership team, operations, human resources, and creative teams.

    • Enhance the profile of the Company through a mix of digital and traditional marketing and communications strategies and partnerships.

    • Support location marketing and communications effort through development of guidelines and toolkits, as well as centralized efforts, ensuring consistency with Company standards, as well as brand voice and tone.

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with the Company's brand, voice, and business objectives.

    • Oversee the creation and distribution of compelling multimedia content, including articles, videos, social media posts, and graphics to drive engagement.

    • Spearhead strategic partnerships and collaborations to augment Company's voice and reach in the industry.

    • Monitor and analyze marketing and social media metrics to optimize content performance and engagement.

    • Serve as a primary point of contact for media outlets, ensuring effective and positive communication with journalists and reporters.

    • Develop and maintain strong media relationships to enhance coverage of the Company.

    • Support the management of media inquiries, press releases, interview requests to ensure consistent messaging and brand representation.

    • Develop and execute public relations strategies to enhance the Company's reputation and public image.

    • Proactively seek opportunities for media coverage and positive exposure for the Company.

    • Develop and implement communications crisis communication plans to manage and respond to situations that may arise.

    • Respond appropriately and quickly to matters of significance and media inquiries and manage any potential crises or sensitive scenarios.

    • Provide guidance and media training to team members to ensure they are well-prepared for interviews and public appearances.

    • Recruit, develop, and lead the marketing and communications team, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and creative work environment.

    • Sets annual schedule based on collaboration with Division Presidents informed by prioritized venues and evaluated based on retention cycle and capital investment, specifically for marketing and communications support.

    • Leads the annual budgeting process for team operating budget in partnership with Finance team and manages team spends/allocations.

    • Liaises with Compass Group's envision and communications teams, providing content for group-wide initiatives.

    Qualifications

    • At least ten years of multi-disciplinary marketing/communications experience working with food and beverage, hospitality or related brands with an understanding of the local, regional and national market with proven measurable results

    • A mix of strategy and hands-on tactical expertise while growing and leading a team

    • Strong leadership and matrix/project management experience

    • Excellent media relations skills, with an established network of media contacts

    • An entrepreneurial mentality, with strong analytical and strategic media contacts

    • Excellent communicator and storyteller (both verbal and written) with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related required; Masters preferred

    • Proven ability to identify, develop and retain top talent

    • Proven track record in developing and executing successful content strategies across various platforms

    • Gift for creating ideas while unafraid to roll-up sleeves to accomplish tasks

    • Ability to pivot, multitask and perform at a high-level in a fast-paced environment

    • High EQ and strong interpersonal skills

    • Act as a fervent brand steward and gatekeeper, demonstrating a delicate balance between long-term brand equity and immediate growth goals.

    • Innovative thinker with a documented history of translating strategic thinking into tangible action plans.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; graphic experience is a valuable asset.

    • Exceptional written, oral, and presentation skills with a commanding executive presence

    • Substantial national travel required, estimated at 60%.
