Google is one of the most popular Internet search engines of all time, and if you work in an office, the odds are good that you find yourself using the website at least once a day. With a few simple Google search tips, you can navigate the Web a little easier and find the information that you need. The less time you spend Googling, the more time you have for your other tasks.

Dan Russell makes a living teaching people how to search with Google, and one of his best tips is pressing the Control and F buttons at the same time. When you perform a simple search and let the page load, press these two buttons to bring up a search box at the bottom of your browser. You can enter the exact word or phrase that you need, and the search box will find where it appears on the page, cutting down on the amount of time you spend scanning the page.

One of the best Google search tips involves including or excluding words from a search. Have you ever tried researching a specific topic and finding a long string of results that include movies and books with that phrase in the title? By inserting the minus (-) symbol in front of the word movie, you can exclude any pages that include that word. You can do the same thing for any other word you want excluded. If you need a number of exact terms, use the plus (+) symbol before each word. This lets Google know that you only want to see results that include every word, and it will weed out pages that don't contain each one.

Google search tips also include ways you can search for results from a single website. All you need to do is use site: before the name of the website. Enter the entire website URL (including "http://"), or enter only the words that come after the first dot, such as "Google.com." Advanced Google search is another helpful way to narrow down your search. With advanced Google search, you can search for pages based on language, region, domain, or most recent page update. Administrative workers can combine Google search tips with the advanced search for even better results. Exclude words, search for a specific phrase, or look for a wide range of terms found on a single page.

Google search tips can reduce the amount of time you spend searching and researching on the Web. Whether you need statistics for an upcoming report or you just need contact information for clients, you can find that information in seconds by using a few easy Google search tips. Include or exclude words and phrases, search specific pages, and find the key words and phrases on those pages with these tips.
