    Position Specific Description

    As a Business Development Manager, you will support the Florida Power & Light Optional Supplemental Power Services (OSPS) group which is responsible for selling and implementing backup power solutions for customers, including generators and power conditioning equipment (e.g. UPS). In this role, you will build relationships with decision-makers to develop viable current and future sales opportunities and close sales with end-use commercial/industrial and governmental customers. You will also identify and execute strategic initiatives to increase program sales opportunities and manage the internal activities required to ensure we provide maximum value to our customers.

    Specific Duties Include:

    • Works with FPL's internal Account Management and External Affairs teams to develop customer relationships with end-user beneficiaries and decision-makers

    • Responsible for sales growth and prospecting for new business opportunities

    • Identify and pursue grant and other cost-sharing opportunities that can be applied to OSPS offering to help attract more opportunities

    • Develop and refine sales processes, plans, tools, and sales materials

    • Qualify and screen high-potential opportunities with the primary purpose of identifying customers that would benefit from an OSPS solution

    • Document customer needs and work with OSPS' Project Development team to define solutions and produce comprehensive sales presentations

    • Delivering OSPS proposal and negotiate close

    • Working cross-functionally to establish customer relationships resulting in sales for FPL

    • Identify opportunities via internal and external channels to ensure an adequate project pipeline

    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

    This selected candidate can be located at any of our FPL offices in Florida.

    Job Overview

    Employees in this role build relationships with national and/or multi account customers to drive sales. This position is responsible for selling FPLES product/service lines (ESCO, Lighting, Power Quality) directly to end use commercial/industrial and governmental customers. Individuals work closely with FPLES direct sales team to jointly close sales on project originated via business development activities

    Job Duties & Responsibilities

    • Works across all business lines to establish customer relationships that directly result in sales for FPLES

    • Prospects and relationship building to drive sales

    • Pursues direct sales with customers

    • Develops account and territory planning

    • Prepares reporting analysis

    • Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements

    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree

    • Experience:7+ years
