AECOM is seeking an Entry Level Biologist to be based in our Clifton, NJ office.
This position is expected to begin in July 2023.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Wetland delineation, field monitoring, data tabulation and reporting, GIS based mapping, and supporting preparation of permit applications.
Position is based in Northern New Jersey (Clifton); a mix of in office and remote work location is acceptable. Field work with occasional overnight travel is likely.
Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
Collects soil, sediments, and water samples and enters data and applies technical principles and theories.
Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, or a related field.
Valid U.S. Driver License required (and must be able to safely drive to job sites).
Knowledgeable about flora and fauna native to NJ and mid-Atlantic states.
Due to the sensitive nature of the position, US Citizenship is required
Plant identification skills.
Has a positive attitude and is adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
Highly organized with a strong detail-oriented work style.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and .pdf editors (eg. Adobe & BlueBeam).
Experience/knowledge of ARC GIS software
Wetland delineation experience (including hydrology, vegetation, and soil parameters)
Experience in construction monitoring, environmental inspection, habitat assessments, and biological surveys
Experience with field data collection tools such as Trimble units and water quality meters.
Soil, water, and sediment sampling experience
OSHA 40-HR Training Certificate
