    Aerojet Rocketdyne has an opportunity for a Facilities Engineering Specialist at our Jupiter/West Palm Beach, Florida location. The facilities are located on the Pratt & Whitney plant site approximately 18 miles West, Northwest of West Palm Beach.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    Under minimal supervision, conceives and plans a variety of complex facilities engineering projects, providing technical advice on feasibility, planning, costs, and time requirements. Coordinate, manage, follow-up and close-out capital projects. Acts as a technical adviser and expert on building systems, design management by all trade skills, operations, and maintenance. Ensures that work performed by the Company's personnel or contractors conforms to national, state and local laws, regulations and codes. Will also participate in the planning, scheduling, oversight, and assignment of preventive maintenance and repair activities with co-workers.

    • 25% - Coordinate preparation of project drawings, specifications and scope-of-work

    • 25% - Estimate project costs and/or prepare capital expenditure requests

    • 25% - Prepare purchase requisitions for respective projects, track project costs, track project progress, conduct status and follow-up meetings, and other administrative matters.

    • 25% - Construction inspection for required conformance

    Requirements

    Requires a Bachelor's degree preferably in Construction Management , Civil Engineering or other appropriate discipline and at least nine (9) years of directly related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

    Desirable Qualifications:

    • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint.

    • Proficient enough with AutoCAD to direct designs and drafters to develop full scale project plans.

    • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills.

    • Strong verbal, written and presentation communications skills.

    • Working with stakeholders to facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables.

    • Define project tasks and resource requirements.

    • Manage project resource allocation and budgets.

    • Plan and schedule project timelines.

    • Track project deliverables using appropriate metrics.

    • Monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders and management.

    • Project commissioning and customer handoff.

    • Strong team commitment

    • Acts as the Facility liaison to Facilitylandlordto support interest and goals of both Corporations.

    • Conducts reviews with plant SH&E and quality experts to develop solutions for safety and quality related problems.

    • Works with in-house trades and contractors to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.

    Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

    The work environment may require a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders, stair, scaffolding, ramps), balance (maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces), bending, reaching, handling/fingering (seizing, holding, grasping, turning picking, pinching), stooping, kneeling, crouching and ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees may work around variable noise levels. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. May also be required to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer. Ability to distinguish colors may also be necessary. Some employees may be required to drive between various locations within the Company facility or between locations. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
